I'm moving soon, to about 2 blocks adjacent to my current block, and 1 street and 2 blocks away from Marine Parade CC..

So lately I've been packing my stuff and clothes.. Just to get ready for the big move.. and also so spite my mother.

She has been complainning that I purchase clothings almost twice a month, yet I still managed to pack up my stuff with such ease..

Well, I don't have like 3 million pairs of shoes (a pair for every outfit and every occassion). And I don't have 2 thousand over evening dresses ( one in every color of the rainbow).

Especially since I lived in Switzerland, I forced myself to learn how to purchase things cruelly and pack cruelly as well. How so?

Clothes you have not touched for over a year.. throw.. you prolly won't be wearing them anymore. Unless you intend to frame them up for display, throw. If you don't bear to throw, then give them away to someone who will fit into it, or donate to charity or something. Just don't burden yourself by getting emotionally attached to it. Have only a few choices of clothings that suits your current taste, style and emotional stage. Stop buying display knick knacks! Unless you are living by yourself or you have a display cabinet ready to display them, else these items are only great to look at not to buy.

Of course there a certain things your wardrobe must have at all cost:

1. The Little Black Dress aka LBD (for formal, semi formal occassions)
2. 1 Cleanly Pressed, sharp 'hire me or u will regret' power suit (comes in colors of white, black or navy blue).
3. A pair of good jeans (I don't mean those raggity, patchy stuff you buy from Juicy Couture) I meant a good imaculate pair of Levis.
4. A white polo tee. (Clean and stainless of course)
5. A sundress (Just slightly above knee cap length, in a color, design and pattern that compliments your skin tone)
6. A bikini of good cutting, that is padded. (Never, I repeat NEVER buy white, unless you are wearing really really good padding)

Shoes:
1. Black cords (a height suitable for you to walk, not limp, drag or stumble around in).
2. Pumps (Color and design that is universal to go with ur wardrobe's style, it is good for shopping)
3. Flip flops (Ipanema is best for comfort and light weight, else havana will do fine also.)
4. Fancy Heels (Something that is stylish is good. Faux snake skins, polka dots, kitten heels, are fine, so long there is juz 1 emphasis, These are good for wearing with your levis and polo tee.)
5. Open toe sandals with heels. (Think as simple as possible, with a good cut, 2 inches is a good height to work with, especially if you are wearing them to work.)
6. A good pair that matches your LBD. (Again, if your LBD has intricade designs, tone down on your other accessories. If it is simple, you can choose to wear an extravagant pair of shoes)

Now, you realise that your 'play safe' wardrobe has shunk. The rest of your wardrobe should be able to play around with shoes you have in your closet.

Style
Styles are controvesial, most women spend most of their lifetimes searching for their 'theme' or style that makes them unique. Its fine, everyone was once a fashion victim, or/and a blah queen.
Most of the time, your maturity, emotional needs, characteristics and self confidence will portray the clothings you wear, the colors you choose. If you can't define that, then associate yourself with seasons.

Which seasons is most you or you most want to be? Lighthearted and fun, like Summer? Lovable and sweet like Spring? Calm and down to earth like Fall? or Quiet and serene like Winter? From there, you will realise what are the colors that attracts you most.

For me, I love Winter and its tranquility, so my colors are always royal navy blue, all shades of grey, absolute black and white. I suppose it is just an age phrase I'm going through at the moment. =p Or perhaps I've fallen deep in love with the likes of Switzerland and its wintery surroundings.

From there you can move on to the different styles and cuts that would draw attention to your assets and less towards your flaws. And being woman, you have to agree that we have it better than men to be able to have so many different designs and colors to choose from. =) So pick wisely and stick to it. When you have disciplined your eyes to learn the cuts that compliments you, that is when you can move away from your conservative choices and pick designs that will further compliment your body and features.

That my girlfriends, is what I call Art.

What is really attractive to men;
- full skirts, tiny waists, and long legs
- clothes that are in fashion, but not avant-garde
- fur and a general air of luxury
- almost any shades of blue; white; very pale and very dark grey; certain men hates to see their men in black; others adores it
- perfume; modern men prefers lighter perfumes, subtle sophisticated blend rather than simpler scent

What do men think they like; (but only in the media)
- revealing tight skirts and agressively pointed bosoms
- 'femme fatale' lingerie
- musky, oriental scents
- spike heels
- whiny faux girlie voices

In short, men enjoy being envied, but they hate feeling conspicuous. And they particularly dislike vulgarity in the woman they love.

This is a little something I picked up from yet another book, which I thought would be able to help some of my close (and confused) female friends.. Please also note that, when it comes to make up, too much is really too much.. Nothing works better than just highlighting a few features.. Rouge, Mascara and Gloss would go a long way for any events. Stop applying all possible kind of cosmetic colours on your face, you'll scare the old folks and make babies cry. Subtle is always key.

Hair.. If you consult any of the local image magazine/self help books, you will realise that the emphasis is that hair colours should always be natural.. Anything between dark burgundy to chocolate brown is highly acceptable. Any other colors that defies natural human colours are a no go. That would also include, orangy copper, ash grey of any sort. The best self help guide to consult for an asian is the one catered for Singapore Girls, which provides good guidance towards portraying a holistic wholesome image, with decorum and class to a decent level.

With so much emphasis, one might feel that all these are just a waste of time and youth, but dear girlfriends, you will learn that elegance is the priviledge of age. It can be accquired only at the price of numerous errors that are best remembered with good humor. And in the end, it is in the moments when we forget ourselves entirely that we are at our most beautiful.

Work was quite satisfying today.. in one way or another..

I completed not all but a fair bit of the work I told myself I needed to clear by today. After all, my CO meeting usually takes up like 2 hours of my time, and then the RC meeting another 2 hours..

I would suppose that without that 4hours interruption, I would have been able to successfully completed the work.

I picked up a quote from a book yesterday 'Underwear isn't just underwear, it is the true garment of your sexual self'.

I would suppose convenience affordability and laziness has made us surrender to the likes of Sloggi and Sorella and whatever else cost less than $3 a piece. That is just pure disgusting! Call me high maintenance if you want, but i stand firm to my believe that underwear portrays just as much about ur character as your outer garments.

So there are a few rules:
1. Underwear should match, if not at least color and pattern coordinate. If you don't wear a polka dot shirt with a pin stripped skirt, den don't do the same for your undies.

2. Do not confuse beautiful lingerie, the kind that supports well and remains fresh, with the cheap, vulgar stuff of men's magazine. Fascinating? I'm sure. But elegant it is NOT!

3. You should always own at least 1 set of full laced and wired cupped bra&undies set (for the special occasions).

4. You should also own lingerie that reflects on real life, in white, nude and black. Of course these should comes in a set. or should at least have matching colors if you choose to own fancy, lacy undies.

5. Do not be tempted by Aries, Chamelon type brand. Think about it, would you be turned off when you look at yourself in the mirror in substandard lingerie. So maybe men are numbskulled by their unquenchable lust for skin, but won't choosing to leave them dumbstruck be better off?

6. You do not need to go to Blush to buy your everyday undergarments though you should at least own a set by Princess Tam Tam or Wacoal. Mid range and sexy ones you can get from Marks and Spencers. Or else Pierre Cardin would have quite a decent range, one or 2 seasons a year.

7. IF your undies are 2 years or older, moldy, holey or is threatening to fall apart, please do yourself a favor and throw them away.

Think about it, if one day, you are wearing this great, hawt and expensive dress. You trip and fall, which is embarrassing enough, what could just make it worse?

This session has been brought to you by the letter L. =p

Enjoy!

I just got back from bowling with Cal at Mount Faber.. Hit my new highscore, 143! Excellent! I be satisfied. We played on the neighbour lane with Christopher Lee *rolls eyes* such a show off. Seriously see nothing talented about him, he's not even good looking.

Oh! I recieved a compromising call from a stranger today (again, considering he called me about 3-4weeks back). Back then, he claimed he was a surveyor from Durex, asked a plentiful amount of compromising questions that were only slightly related to the product.. What?? Only when he called again today and said 'I left out a few questions that day, wonder if you can assist in finishing up the survey' and started asking even more personal questions did i have the sense to realise it couldnt have been a survey..

I swear if he calls again I'll po mata..

Sigh.. whats with me and meeting pervs?
